Prom Night MOVIE REVIEW

Recently I saw the movie Prom Night. I'm a sucker for ANY scary movies, although they never scare me.

The story centers around high school teacher Richard Fenton (played by Johnathon Schaech). He became obbsessed with student Donna Keppel (Brittany Snow). After her parents got a restraining order, he broke into the Keppel house at night, killing Donna's father, little brother, and mother, (whom Donna watches get killed while she is hiding under a bed) in a furious attempt to find her. Donna sees her mother get killed while hiding under the bed in her room. He was caught and put away in a maximum security prison, where the obsessions did not stop. While in prison he wrote graphic letters to Donna and continued to be obsessed with her. He escaped from prison 3 days before the night of Donna's prom. As the police try to find him, they begin to discover they are in a race against time... and Donna's life is on the line.

The movie was not scary like "The Amityville Horror" or "The Exorcist" and it doesn't have the blood and guts of any of the "Saw" movies or "The Devil's Rejects" but it has a great plot and the whole movie will keep you guessing, but certainly not jumping out of your seat and scared to go to sleep that night.

Overall thought, GREAT MOVIE!
Certainly worth my $13. It was different, and in this case, different was AWESOME.
Grade: 9/10
I'll make sure I get this one when it comes to DVD

Step Up 2: The Streets

ok...So I saw Step Up 2: The Streets today. Here is my review of the movie:

Let me start by saying I was NOT HAPPY with Briana Evigan , who played Andie, the main character, dancing around in a tank top the entire movie.

But, I can ignore that (though its certainly not a movie I would take high school guys to). Besides that, I loved the story line, and I'm not going to ruin the movie for you guys, but I love the change that happens not just in her life and the lives of her friends, and I love how she transforms the entire school.

Her "crew" was made up of of 10 (give or take) kids who were told that they were not good enough. Whether their hair was to long, their smile was too stupid, or their dance was just to "street" for their school, Andie changed everyone mindset and learned a lot along the way, one of the biggest things being,
It's not where you're from. It's where you're at.
Overall, I really like this movie. Loved the music, loved the dancing, and loved the choreography. Great movie, and certainly worth my $7.

8/10

Get a shirt on Andie and we're talking 9 or 10 out of 10

Fool's Gold

I saw Fool's Gold last week. I went because I have loved what Matthew McConaughey and loved two of his most recent films "Two for the money" and "We are Marshall". I was really looking forward to this movie. I thought it would be funny as well as adventurous. Unfortunately, every funny part was shown in the previews to the the movie. There was very little action as well. As if there have not been enough movies about finding treasure...this one tried that storyline again. For all the hype that led up to this movie, this movie was a complete joke. I'm not very hard on grading movies, but this one sucked it up. 5/10. Try again Matthew. You and Kate didn't work in this flick.
